She offered to help me with a heartbreaking situation when the dog of my heart, Bartleby, was suffering with one health challenge after another. She described a “worry look” Alfie gives me when he wants me to know or attend to something. He worries that I may not fill his dish or that he may not get outside in time, for example. When the look doesn’t work, he talks (barks) until I “hear” him.
This hit the mark because after rescuing Alfie 3 years ago, we discovered he experienced food insecurity, extreme anxiety, and leash aggression. These messages really helped explain some of his behavior! After hearing what Elizabeth learned from Alfie, I now have the tools to connect with him directly and help him feel more at ease. We wondered why Bruno had developed a slightly aggressive small dog attitude. When we moved to Chicago from Northern Virginia, our little guy became reluctant to go outside for walks and fought us when he tried to take him out. When my sister’s dog Milo was not feeling well recently, I reached out to Elizabeth. With nothing more than a photo to guide her, she came back with some very specific messages from him that caused my sister to exclaim
